3 Cops Injured, 1 shot in Poughkeepsie Shooting: Supect and Woman Killed

A shootout on Lower Main Street in Poughkeepsie, New York has left one officer shot and three others injured. Main Street was shut down at the intersection with Route 44/55 as Poughkeepsie Police investigated the scene.

The police were responding to a call reporting gunshots in a parking lot when they found the suspect carrying a child. After separating the child from the suspect, one officer gave chase, and was apparently shot by the gunman during a second confrontation.

The man suspected of shooting the officer was then shot by the responding police, and died from gunshot wounds shortly after being taken to a local hospital.
