A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 6am Sunday through 6am Monday for most of the central and southern Minnesota. Snow will develop & fill in through the mid to late morning across the metro and continue through most of the day on Sunday. The rain/snow line looks like it will remain in far southern Minnesota. That will put heavy snow in across central and south central Minnesota throughout the day Sunday. Accumulations of 7"-12" are possible in a band from Morris and Granite Falls to the west through St. Cloud, Hutchinson in central Minnesota pushing east to Twin Cities, up through Cambridge and eventually to Rice Lake and Eau Claire during the day Sunday. We will see additional accumulations of 2 to 4" Sunday night giving us a grand total of 10 to 15" in the metro area by Monday morning when the snow ends. Some areas in west central Minnesota could see up to 14 to 20" with isolated two foot amounts.
Areas around I-90 will have icy accumulations with a wintry mix falling throughout the day.
